BISP Launches Digital Wallet System for Women to Get Aid

19 September, 2025 13:47

The Government of Pakistan and the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) have introduced a big change in how women will receive their Kafalat financial aid.

Starting next month, payments will no longer be collected from crowded campsites. Instead, money will go directly into digital wallet accounts, similar to JazzCash or Easypaisa.

Old vs New System

In the old method, women had to travel long distances, wait in long lines, and face mismanagement just to collect their aid. The new system will allow beneficiaries to receive money safely and quickly in their own digital wallets. They can then withdraw cash from many places across Pakistan, giving them more dignity and convenience.

What Is a Digital Wallet?

A digital wallet is a mobile-based account connected to your CNIC and mobile number. It works like JazzCash or Easypaisa.
Benefits include:

  • Direct payments into the wallet.

  • Easy withdrawals from multiple outlets.

  • No more long queues.

  • More control over money.

Important Requirements

To use this system, beneficiaries must follow some rules:

  1. Valid CNIC & Mobile Phone – CNIC should not be expired, and a working mobile phone is needed to receive OTP codes.

  2. SIM Card Limit – A maximum of 4 SIMs can be registered under one CNIC. Extra SIMs must be closed by visiting the mobile franchise.

  3. Free SIM from BISP – If needed, BISP will provide a free SIM. Women should not buy SIMs or open accounts privately.

How It Works

  • Wallet accounts will be opened under BISP staff supervision at camp sites.

  • Each account will be linked to the woman’s CNIC and mobile number.

  • When money is sent, she will receive an OTP (One-Time Password) on her SIM.

  • By using the OTP, she can withdraw cash safely.

Collect From Anywhere

With this system, women are no longer tied to one camp site. They can collect aid from any authorized outlet across Pakistan, making access much easier for families.

What to Bring

When visiting a BISP camp site to open a wallet account, women should bring:

  • Their valid CNIC.

  • Their mobile phone.

  • A SIM card in their own name.

Why This Matters

The new wallet system will save time, reduce hardship, and ensure dignity for women. It is safer, faster, and more transparent. Officials believe this change will not only make aid distribution easier but also help women learn digital banking, giving them more financial independence.
