PM Laptop Scheme 2025: How to Check Your Application Online

The government has relaunched the PM Laptop Scheme 2025, providing thousands of university and college students nationwide with the opportunity to receive free laptops. Officials say the initiative aims to reduce financial barriers, ensuring students can continue online classes, research, and even freelancing from home.

To address concerns about application uncertainty, authorities have introduced a convenient online system. Students can now check their PM Laptop Scheme 2025 application status by visiting the official PM Youth Programme website (laptop.pmyp.gov.pk). By entering their CNIC and selecting their university, applicants can instantly view whether their case is “approved, under review, or rejected.”

The scheme, part of the Prime Minister Youth Programme, is designed to enhance digital access, helping students attend virtual lectures, use digital libraries, practise IT skills, and explore freelancing opportunities.

Officials have also highlighted the documents required for successful applications:

• A valid CNIC or B-Form (verified through NADRA)
• Proof of university enrolment such as a student ID card
• A recent transcript confirming academic standing
• Updated personal details in the university’s database

Authorities warn that many rejections occur due to avoidable mistakes such as entering incorrect CNICs, using inactive contact details, failing to update records, or submitting duplicate applications. Students whose names do not appear on the list are advised to contact their university focal person or lodge complaints through the PM Youth Programme helpline.

Even after approval, delays in laptop distribution are possible due to university verification issues, incomplete documents, shipment schedules, or budget release timings. Students are urged to stay connected with their universities and keep their contact information up to date to ensure they do not miss out when distribution begins.
