Singer D4vd Ends $20,000 Lease After Home Raided in Teen Death Investigation

Singer D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, and his manager have abruptly terminated their $20,000-a-month lease in the Hollywood Hills following a police raid on the property, the homeowner confirmed.

The move comes after the remains of 13-year-old Celeste Rivas, missing since May 2024, were discovered on September 8 inside the front trunk of Burke’s impounded Tesla. The vehicle had been abandoned near Doheny Place, close to the rented home of Burke’s manager Josh Marshall, where the 20-year-old artist had been staying.

Authorities raided the residence on September 17, seizing evidence, including a laptop, as part of the ongoing investigation into Rivas’s suspected murder. No charges have been filed so far.

Homeowner Mladen Trifunovic revealed that Marshall signed the lease in February 2024, around the same time Rivas was first reported missing. Following the raid, Marshall requested to break the lease, and moving trucks are expected this week. “They’ve decided to move out because of the ongoing circumstances. They didn’t want to be there anymore,” Trifunovic told the Daily Mail.

Trifunovic, an AI developer and investor, admitted he had no prior knowledge of Burke living in the house until after the raid. “This has all been such a big shock. I’m still trying to process everything, and I’m anxiously waiting for the story to conclude itself…It’s very disturbing,” he added.

Police confirmed that “several items of evidence” were recovered from the property, which will undergo further analysis. Meanwhile, Burke has not commented publicly on the case and has canceled the remainder of his Withered World Tour. His legal team, led by high-profile attorney Blair Berk, has not issued any statements.

The LAPD investigation continues, with detectives following up on multiple leads while Rivas’s family and community await answers about her tragic death.
