What Happened to Twitch Streamer Kelton_g in Japan? Viral Train Push Video Sparks Debate

24 September, 2025 16:15

Fukuoka, Japan: Spanish-speaking Twitch streamer Kelton_g found himself at the center of controversy after a viral clip showed him pushing an elderly man during a train livestream in Japan.

The short clip sparked outrage online. Many viewers accused the streamer of being disrespectful to Japanese culture and even called for his arrest.

The Viral Train Altercation

In the video, Kelton_g is seen sitting on the train and streaming to his audience. An older man, appearing upset, approached him and tried to tap him on the chest and head. The streamer pushed the man back into a seat and shouted:

“Ay, stop, bro! Don’t touch me, bro. Stop. Stop.”

The man got up again, and Kelton pushed him once more.

What Really Happened?

A longer version of the livestream revealed more context. Witnesses online said Kelton had been speaking loudly on the train, disturbing other passengers. The elderly man asked him to stop, but Kelton ignored him. The man then made physical contact several times, which led to the streamer’s defensive reaction.

While some viewers criticized Kelton, others defended him, saying he had the right to protect himself after being touched multiple times.

One Reddit user wrote:
“The old dude was unnecessarily aggressive. The tourist should not have been talking on the train, but that doesn’t give him the right to attack someone.”

Kelton_g Apologizes

Following the backlash, Kelton_g posted an apology on his Instagram, which was later deleted. He admitted both sides acted badly:

“The gentleman was rude and tried to hit me, and I pushed him. I only acted in self-defense and never to hurt anyone.”

He also praised Japan, calling it a “sugoe country” (Japanese slang for amazing), and asked fans not to generalize the incident to the culture as a whole.

Police and Twitch Action

Kelton confirmed that Japanese police questioned him after the altercation. According to his statement, officers agreed the elderly man started the confrontation, while he only defended himself.

Despite this, Twitch has temporarily banned his channel, citing a violation of its Community Guidelines.
