Did Diddy fall to his knees after being sentenced? Viral courtroom sketch explained

04 October, 2025 16:38

A courtroom sketch from Diddy’s trial has gone viral after DJ Akademiks shared it on October 3, 2025, through a tweet. Akademiks claimed the sketch showed the moment when the rapper heard his sentencing of a little over four years in prison.

In the image, Sean “Diddy” Combs was seen on his knees with his head resting on a chair.

The tweet quickly gained attention, getting over 23,000 views and hundreds of likes, with many users reacting in different ways. However, it has now been confirmed that the post by DJ Akademiks was misleading — the sketch was not from the recent sentencing.

According to a BBC report published on July 3, the sketch was actually from months earlier, when Diddy was acquitted of major charges, including running a criminal enterprise and s*x trafficking. After the verdict, Diddy reportedly fell to his knees and put his head on a chair — the exact scene shown in the viral sketch.

Diddy’s Actual Sentence

Recently, Sean “Diddy” Combs received a 4-year and 2-month prison sentence. The sentencing came after the severe charges against him were dropped earlier this year.

Prosecutors had initially suggested an 11-year sentence, pointing to Diddy’s history of domestic violence. Judge Arun Subramanian stated that a strong sentence was necessary to “send a message.”

During the hearing, Diddy apologized to his former partners, including Casandra Ventura and “Jane,” saying:

“My actions were disgusting, shameful, and sick. I got lost in excess, I got lost in my ego.”

He also expressed regret toward his mother and children, saying they “deserved better.” Diddy pleaded with the judge, saying:

“I ask your honour for mercy. I beg your honour for mercy.”

Background of the Case

Diddy’s trial ended in July 2025, where he was acquitted of three major charges but found guilty of two others. He had denied all allegations throughout the case.

Meanwhile, several lawsuits are still ongoing against the rapper. Attorney Tony Buzbee said that over 100 people across the US have sued or plan to sue Diddy.
