Who is Mohammad Salman? Karachi Man Arrested for Cultivating Cannabis on Rooftop!

The Sindh Excise and Narcotics Control Department has apprehended a man accused of cultivating cannabis on the rooftop of his bungalow in Karachi’s Naya Nazimabad area. Deputy Director Zahoor Elahi Mazari confirmed the arrest of the suspect, identified as Mohammad Salman, son of Mohammad Irfan, also known as Rana Sardar. Salman is alleged to have been covertly growing and distributing cannabis across various parts of Karachi, particularly targeting areas close to educational institutions.

During the raid, a team from the District Central Narcotics Control Unit, led by Inspector Gul Sher Sheikh, seized 45 cannabis plants, 42 grams of processed weed, and 30 grams of cannabis seeds from the suspect’s residence. The confiscated plants weighed approximately 10 to 12 kilograms and are estimated to have a market value of around Rs60 million internationally.

A case has been registered against Salman under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, and investigations are ongoing to uncover the extent of his network. Authorities revealed that the suspect was reportedly selling cannabis online, primarily targeting university and college students.

Sources indicate that cannabis cultivation is becoming increasingly common in Karachi, especially in affluent neighborhoods such as DHA and Clifton. The Sindh Excise and Narcotics Control Department has announced the initiation of a large-scale operation against such illegal activities, with further arrests expected in the coming days.
