Who is Mubina Shahid? Dancer Shot Dead in Peshawar

A tragic incident occurred when unidentified assailants opened fire on a local dancer, Mubina Shahid, traveling in a rickshaw, resulting in her instant death.

According to initial reports, the dancer was accompanied by her brother, who narrowly escaped the attack. Peshawar police confirmed the incident upon reaching the scene.

Authorities identified the deceased as Mubina Shahid, a resident of Khuwaja Town, Peshawar, originally from Swabi.

A First Information Report (FIR) was registered on the complaint of Ahmed Faraz, the victim’s brother. In his statement, he revealed that his sister performed at dance parties, a matter that had caused tension within the family, as she had been repeatedly warned to stop.

Police have collected evidence from the crime scene and initiated raids to arrest the suspects. However, no arrests have been made so far.

Separately, in Karachi’s China Port area, a young couple was found murdered in what police suspect to be an ‘honour killing.’

The victims were identified as Sana Asif and Sajid Masih, aged between 25 and 30. Both hailed from Gujranwala and had recently married of their own choice before relocating to Karachi.

Police said the bodies bore single gunshot wounds to the head, fired at close range. Spent bullet casings, along with a mobile phone, cash, and passport-sized photographs, were recovered from the scene.

The bodies were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.
