Was D4vd's Manager Josh Marshall Arrested? Viral Celeste Hernandez Kidnapping Rumor Debunked
In September, Los Angeles police discovered the body of Celeste Rivas Hernandez inside the trunk of an impounded Tesla registered to musician David “D4vd” Anthony Burke. Over a month after the grim discovery, unverified social media claims began linking the Romantic Homicide rapper’s team to the case.
According to a viral post shared by a Facebook page named Cold War ✰, which has over 59,000 followers, federal authorities had allegedly arrested D4vd’s manager after “leaked footage” appeared to show him abducting the late singer shortly before her death. The post cited AI-generated visuals and referenced a dubious blog, but there is no credible evidence or official record of any such arrest involving the rapper’s management or associates.
The claim repeated, “Federal authorities have arrested the manager of rising artist Davd after explosive leaked footage allegedly shows him abducting singer Celeste days before her tragic death.”
Despite its circulation, no reliable source or law enforcement confirmation has supported the allegations.
Manager Denies Allegations
Josh Marshall, founder of Mogul Vision and the executive managing D4vd, publicly rejected the accusations. In statements reported by the San Francisco Chronicle, Marshall responded through now-deleted TikTok comments, writing:
“How dare you say something like this with no facts.”
He further clarified,
“This is the only time I’ll speak on this matter. FOR NOW. I never received any emails. I had zero knowledge of anything and I don’t live in California.”
Marshall emphasized that his work is primarily remote and that his role does not involve regular in-person interaction with D4vd or his other clients. He described Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s death as “tragic” and expressed his hope for a comprehensive investigation.
LAPD Yet to Name a Suspect
The Los Angeles Police Department has not charged or named David Burke—or anyone else—as a suspect in connection with Hernandez’s death. Speaking to People in September, LAPD Robbery-Homicide Captain Scot Williams stated:
“We know for sure that Celeste Rivas Hernandez died and someone placed her body in the front trunk area of David Burke’s Tesla. We know that the Tesla had been parked at the location from which it was towed for several weeks, so it is very likely Celeste Rivas Hernandez had been dead for several weeks prior to her body being discovered.”
He added that the coroner had yet to determine the cause of death and continued:
“We don’t know for sure if anyone has any criminal culpability for her death beyond the concealment of her dead body.”
Williams declined to discuss the possible relationship between Burke and the victim, noting that doing so would be premature while the investigation remains active.
Rapper Reportedly Transfers Texas Properties to His Mother
Following the discovery, reports emerged that the Petals to Thorns artist transferred ownership of two Texas residences to his mother’s name. TMZ obtained legal records showing the transactions occurred on September 18 and September 22.
According to ABC 7 Los Angeles, police had responded to one of Burke’s properties on September 17 after receiving a false emergency call alleging a fatal shooting. The 911 caller reported:
“I heard, like, some gunshots… and I think someone is dead.”
Authorities later confirmed there had been no shooting. When officers arrived, they found Burke’s parents and learned his siblings were upstairs at the time.
As of now, investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s death, with no suspects publicly identified.
