Week-Long School Holidays Announced – Here’s When Classes Resume
Schools across the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have announced holidays for the midterm break of the first semester of the 2025–26 academic year.
According to the official schedule, the holidays will be observed from October 13 to October 17, with schools reopening nationwide on October 20.
Both public and private schools following the Ministry of Education’s curriculum will observe this midterm break.
A circular issued by school authorities mentioned that teachers and administrative staff will attend professional development programs from October 13 to 15. Afterward, they will observe their midterm break from October 16 to 19.
During this time, students will have time off from academic activities, with regular classes resuming on Monday, October 20.
Parents across the UAE have welcomed the announcement, with many planning family outings, recreational activities, and short getaways during the holidays.
How Many Holidays Have Been Announced?
Officially, there are five holidays from October 13 to 17. However, students will enjoy two additional days on Saturday and Sunday (October 18 and 19) before returning to classes on October 20.
