John Travolta recently paid a touching tribute to his late wife, Kelly Preston, marking five years since her death. The beloved couple shared nearly three decades of marriage.

On October 13, which would have been Kelly’s 62nd birthday, the actor posted a heartfelt message on Instagram accompanied by a photo of Kelly smiling and holding a bouquet. Alongside the image, Travolta shared a recording of himself singing “Come Rain or Come Shine.”

“I recorded this song for Kelly and I want to share it with you all on her birthday. Happy birthday Kelly, we love you. -John, Ella and Ben,” he wrote in the caption.

With soft piano music in the background, Travolta sang:

“I’m gonna love you, like nobody’s loved you, come rain or come shine. High as a mountain, and deep as a river, come rain or come shine. I guess when you met me, it was just, just one of those things, but don’t you ever bet me, ‘cause I’m gonna be true if you let me.”

He continued:

Kelly Preston passed away on July 12, 2020, after a two-year battle with breast cancer at the age of 57.

The couple also endured the tragic loss of their 16-year-old son, Jett Travolta, who died in 2009 due to a seizure-related accident in the Bahamas. The family shared a close bond, with John once saying, “I’m happy as long as my kids are happy.”

John and Kelly married on September 5, 1991, and had three children together: their late son Jett, daughter Ella Bleu born in 2000, and son Benjamin born in 2010.

On Mother’s Day and Kelly’s birthday, Ella Bleu paid tribute to her mother via Instagram, calling her “the strongest, most beautiful, loving, funny, smart woman I know,” adding, “Happy Birthday, Mama. I love you so.”
