Reid Perry, bassist and founding member of the sibling trio The Band Perry, has officially stepped away from the group. In a heartfelt Instagram post shared on October 13, Reid confirmed his departure, signaling a new chapter in his music career.

“To the fans, you’ve always been my favorite part of this. I’ve decided to leave TBP,” he wrote.

Reid announced that he will now focus on managing The Voice alum Ryan Coleman, calling him “a new voice I believe in more than anything.” He expressed gratitude for the journey he shared with the band and its supporters:

“For me it was and will always be about making great country music, with and for the hardworking people who love it and live it. Thank you for every memory, I’ll see you back in the saddle. I wish Kimberly and TBP the best as they move forward into the future.”

Reid’s sister and lead vocalist Kimberly Perry responded to his announcement with support and affection:

“Reid! Wishing you the most wonderful successes in your new era! Love you, brother!”

Fans flooded the comments section with messages of appreciation and well wishes:

“Thanks for all the unforgettable memories along the years. Best of luck in the new project. 🔥”
“My heart breaks hearing this news, I wish you Luck ! We definitely will miss you! Love ya ❤️❤️”

A Look Back at The Band Perry

Formed in 2005, The Band Perry originally consisted of siblings Kimberly, Neil, and Reid Perry. Their breakout came in 2010 with the chart-topping single “If I Die Young,” followed by a Grammy Award in 2015 for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for their song “Gentle on My Mind.”

Kimberly Perry began her music journey in high school and soon brought in her younger brothers as roadies and later as bandmates. According to Kimberly, the siblings often sang old country classics together on the porch, hoping to channel traditional Southern sounds.

“We always knew we’d take the stage together – all we were waiting on was the right moment,” she shared.

That moment arrived in July 2005 when the trio officially formed The Band Perry.

Band Changes and Current Lineup

In 2023, The Band Perry announced a hiatus to pursue individual creative endeavors. The group reemerged in 2025 with a restructured lineup — Kimberly Perry remaining as the sole original member, now joined by her husband Johnny Costello, who replaced Neil Perry earlier this year.

With Reid’s departure, Kimberly leads the next chapter of the band’s evolution, continuing to shape its direction with a fresh lineup and renewed vision.
