French Company Launches Advanced Low-Power Air Conditioner — Promises More Cooling with Less Power

15 October, 2025 11:35

French startup Caeli Énergie has unveiled an innovative cooling system that dramatically reduces electricity consumption while delivering superior cooling performance compared to traditional air conditioners. According to the company, this new technology consumes approximately five times less power yet provides four times more cooling output.

The system operates on the principle of adiabatic cooling, a natural process where water evaporates to absorb heat from the surrounding air. However, unlike conventional air coolers, Caeli Énergie’s design prevents the air from coming into direct contact with water, eliminating common issues related to humidity and dampness.

Caeli Énergie claims their unit achieves an efficiency of 14 watts of cooling for every watt of electricity consumed—making it about five times more efficient than standard AC units. The technology is entirely indoor-based, requiring no external compressors or blocks, and uses no harmful refrigerant gases, significantly reducing environmental impact.

Additionally, since the system does not expel heat outside, it avoids increasing the ambient temperature around buildings—a common drawback of traditional air conditioning. Experts believe that widespread adoption of this technology could lead to significant reductions in electricity costs and carbon emissions.

The company’s founders emphasize their commitment to providing a cooling solution that is energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, and affordable for everyday users. This innovation is seen as a promising response to the growing challenges posed by climate change, especially in regions experiencing increasingly intense heat.
