KARACHI: A District and Sessions Court in Malir has ordered an investigation after a man claimed that two people at Karachi Airport stole his mobile phone and transferred around $850,000 from his digital currency account.

The case began when the citizen filed a petition, saying his belongings were snatched and police refused to register an FIR.

According to the complaint, the incident took place on September 30 when the man was travelling to Peshawar. He said two men in plain clothes stopped him at the airport, took him into a room, seized his phone, and transferred his digital funds.

During the court hearing, police presented a report and a USB containing related evidence. The petitioner urged the court to ensure a fair investigation and provide him protection, saying that the people involved were part of an organized group targeting him.

The court directed the SSP Malir to hold a detailed inquiry and assigned a DSP-rank officer to lead the investigation.

This shocking case has raised serious concerns about airport security and the safety of digital financial assets in Pakistan.
