Why was NBA Ddawg arrested? NBA YoungBoy’s friend says cops lied in his case
NBA Ddawg, a known affiliate of rapper NBA YoungBoy, recently made serious claims on Instagram, saying that some officers are trying to frame him for murder. He posted on his Instagram story about an arrest from 2022 linked to a “high-speed” car crash, saying:
“The group of officers who stalked me are known as The Brave Team (google them) they’re either fired, under federal investigation, or have been arrested for breaking the law, violating civil rights, & etc.”
Ddawg accused these officers of lying and tampering with evidence. He claimed the passenger in the car opened the door before the crash, yet police said the passenger flew out after hitting the windshield. He urged people not to believe what they see in the media, saying the officers are trying to frame him with false allegations.
In September 2022, Ddawg was arrested after a car crash that killed his passenger. Jail records show he faced charges of manslaughter and resisting an officer.
Ddawg says he was threatened with life sentence
In another Instagram story, NBA Ddawg revealed more about the 2022 case. He said he hired a lawyer and handed over all the evidence to clear his name, but he was pressured to accept a plea deal.
“I was threatened with a life sentence if I didn’t take the time they offered. Everyone was scared to go up against the police. With me and my wife fighting them ourselves it made the most sense to take the deal than risk life.”
He claimed that if he had gone to trial, the jury would have been “fake.” He also shared photos of court documents that described how the passenger, identified as Larry Harris, was thrown from the car after hitting the windshield. The report mentioned that “the front door was unlatched” during the crash.
According to WBRZ, Ddawg was hospitalized after the accident. Police found a ski mask and weapons in the car.
HipHopDX reported that this 2022 arrest happened soon after Ddawg was released on bond from another case. Back in 2012, at age 14, he was detained for the murder of Derrick Marioneaux in Baton Rouge. The victim’s family said Ddawg tried to rob them but they escaped. In 2018, he was also accused of attempted murder in a separate case.
