Sally Kirkland Reportedly Enters Hospice Care Amid Health Struggles

Actress Sally Kirkland, known for her Golden Globe-winning role in Anna, has entered hospice care in Palm Springs, California, following a battle with dementia. The 84-year-old star, who has been facing significant health issues, was diagnosed with dementia last year. In addition to her cognitive condition, Kirkland suffered multiple fractures after a fall in the shower, including broken bones in her neck, wrist, and hip. These injuries led to two life-threatening infections, further complicating her recovery.

Kirkland’s representative, Michael Greene, confirmed the news to TMZ and shared that the actress’s close friend and former student, Cody Galloway, is traveling to be with her during this challenging time. To support her care, friends of the actress launched a GoFundMe campaign in November 2024, which has raised over $57,000 of the $65,000 goal.

Sally Kirkland, who has appeared in over 250 films and TV shows, has left a lasting impact on Hollywood. She earned an Oscar nomination for her performance in Anna and won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture for the same role.
