Reports claiming that Black Ink Crew star Teddy Ruks has been arrested have been circulating widely online. According to The Georgia Gazette on November 8, 2025, the tattoo artist was allegedly accused of violating probation, with some sources suggesting the incident took place in Gwinnett County. A mugshot of Ruks is also making rounds on social media, though Teddy or his representatives have not issued any official comment.
Despite the rumors, Ruks remains active online. Just two days ago, he shared an Instagram post wishing his followers a “Happy Sunday,” accompanied by a photo captioned: “Every day above ground is a beautiful day… Thank You Lord.”
This is not the first time a Black Ink Crew member has faced legal issues. Tatiana Ritter encountered felony charges, including conspiracy and attempted conspiracy, three years ago and was placed on a five-year probation following a plea deal. In 2019, Ceasar Emmanuel was involved in a traffic dispute linked to a damaged tattoo shop, which also drew media attention.
Teddy Ruks, a Harlem native, rose to prominence through VH1’s Black Ink Crew, first appearing in 2013. Over the years, he became a popular tattoo artist and reality TV personality, also featuring in spin-offs set in Chicago and Los Angeles. In a past interview with In Touch Weekly, he revealed his real name as Shariff Homer, adding, “My real government name is Richard Duncan aka Dck Duncan aka Big Dck Duncan.”
Ruks has faced controversy in the past, including a 2019 altercation with fellow cast member Alex Robinson and his cousin Ceasar Emmanuel. Following the incident, he apologized on Instagram, writing: “To the Young Philly Man You Know Who You Are… I WAS WRONG AND I APOLOGIZE TO ALEX! You made me understand and I will do better for us.”
Currently, Ruks is active on Instagram with over 900,000 followers and recently launched a YouTube channel, continuing to engage with fans despite the ongoing speculation.
