A viral video on Facebook claims that hundreds of alligators flooded LSU’s Tiger Stadium, causing people to run to the upper decks for safety. The clip was posted by Baton Rouge Breaking News and quickly spread across the platform. The video shows several alligators swimming across the football field, with security guards seemingly running away. It has gained nearly 2 million views, thousands of likes, and hundreds of comments.
But the truth is very simple: the LSU alligators video is completely fake.
The Video Is AI-Generated
The viral stadium footage was created using AI tools. The Facebook page that uploaded it openly admits in its bio that it posts satirical news and AI-generated videos. They regularly upload animal clips made with artificial intelligence for entertainment.
Their bio even states:
“We’re a globally renowned satirical news organization based in LA. All content on our page is original.”
Because of this, the alligator video has no connection to any real event at LSU.
People Online Quickly Figured It Out
Many viewers realized the video was not real. Instead of panic, the crowd in the video looked completely calm, which made people joke about it.
Some of the comments included:
“The audience looks too calm. Looks like they’re enjoying the halftime show.”
“I thought this was a joke about the Florida Gators playing LSU.”
“It’s the Gator Bowl! They already scored the winning touchdown!”
These reactions show that most social media users understood the clip was edited for fun.
