Columbus Schools Closed Monday, Dec. 15 After Snowstorm and Freezing Temperatures
Columbus City Schools announced closures on Monday, Dec. 15, following a weekend winter storm that dropped over 5.4 inches of snow across the region, accompanied by frigid temperatures.
A cold weather advisory has been issued for central Ohio, remaining in effect through 11 a.m. Dec. 15. On the morning of Dec. 14, temperatures at John Glenn Columbus International Airport reached 4 degrees, with a wind chill making it feel as cold as 16 degrees below zero.
Late on Dec. 14, Columbus City Schools posted that they would close on Dec. 15 “due to inclement weather.” Residents are encouraged to check NBC 4 or the Dispatch for additional school closings and updates throughout the morning.
Authorities and school officials have stated that the list of closures and updates will continue to be revised as more information becomes available, ensuring families stay informed during the winter storm and extreme cold conditions.
