Marvel Avengers: Doomsday Teaser Leak Sparks Debate Over Chris Evans’ Return

16 December, 2025 12:19

A purported teaser for Avengers: Doomsday has recently surfaced online, fueling speculation about a possible cameo by Chris Evans as Captain America. However, official sources from Marvel Studios have not confirmed the authenticity of the clip.

As AI-generated videos and fan-made content become increasingly common, many fans have questioned: “Did Marvel really leak the Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailer?” The answer is NO. Since Marvel has not made any statements regarding the footage, it remains unofficial.

According to The Economic Times, Marvel Studios had planned to release multiple short previews highlighting individual characters rather than a single large trailer. This suggests the leaked clip may either be an AI-generated fan video or an unauthorized promotional attempt.

What the Leaked Teaser Shows

Reports from IBT indicate that the clip portrays Steve Rogers riding a bike to a building, examining his old Captain America suit, but ultimately choosing to hold a baby instead. The teaser concludes with the text: “Steve Rogers will return in Avengers: Doomsday.” If genuine, this hints at a more central, emotionally-driven role for Rogers rather than a brief multiverse cameo.

Marvel’s marketing strategy reportedly includes four short trailers set to screen in theaters alongside Avatar: Fire and Ash, each shown for a week to generate excitement and encourage repeat visits. If the leaked video is real, it could potentially disrupt this carefully planned campaign.

Chris Evans’ potential return is especially noteworthy given his previous statements about exiting the Avengers universe. In a past interview with ScreenRant, he reflected:

“I talk to [Robert Downey Jr. and the Russos] all the time. It’s where Pedro [Pascal] is right now. I mean, it’s sad to be away. It’s sad to not be back with the band, but I’m sure they’re doing something incredible, and I’m sure it’s going to be that much harder when it comes out, and you feel like you weren’t invited to the party.”

Industry insiders, including Daniel Richtman on X, suggest that the first teaser focuses on Steve Rogers, confirming his return and positioning him as a key lead in Avengers: Doomsday.

Until Marvel officially releases the teaser, fans should treat all leaked content with caution, as its authenticity remains unverified.
