Leopard Spotted at International Islamic University – Watch Video

A leopard sighting at the International Islamic University (IIU) triggered safety concerns on campus, leading the university administration to temporarily close all departments while wildlife authorities moved in to handle the situation.

According to university officials, the wild animal was first seen hiding in bushes within the campus premises, causing alarm among students and staff. Following the sighting, the administration swiftly suspended on-campus activities and contacted law enforcement agencies along with the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) for immediate assistance.

A specialized wildlife response team reached the university shortly afterward and began a coordinated search operation. Officials confirmed clear signs of the leopard’s presence, indicating that the animal is still believed to be within the campus boundaries.

As a preventive measure, wildlife experts have set up traps at strategic locations and are conducting continuous patrols while remaining in close coordination with police and other relevant departments.

The IWMB has urged students, staff, and the general public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information as efforts to safely locate and capture the animal continue.

“There is no need to panic at this stage,” the board said in a statement, adding that response teams are on high alert and actively working with concerned authorities to manage the situation safely.
