How to Get an M-Tag for Your Car in Minutes: Easy Method

The process for obtaining an M-Tag in Islamabad has been made extremely easy to ensure completion before the stipulated deadline.

With less than 15 days remaining after the deadline extension, authorities are urging motorists in the federal capital to “immediately complete M-Tag registration” to avoid last-minute chaos at toll plazas.

Officials have clarified that only two basic documents are required for M-Tag registration: the vehicle’s registration card/book and the owner’s National Identity Card (CNIC). “No additional forms, files, or photocopies are needed,” authorities confirmed. If both documents are valid and available, the M-Tag is issued on the spot.

Sources note that authorities have repeatedly emphasized that motorists who arrive at registration centers with complete documents can complete the process in just a few minutes, while any missing document may require them to return later.

To further facilitate registration, One Network has established 15 M-Tag registration centers across Islamabad, allowing vehicle owners to register near their residential areas or travel routes. Officials said the purpose of these centers is to provide timely M-Tag services to as many vehicle owners as possible.

Authorities warned that traveling on motorways and toll roads without an M-Tag after the deadline may cause difficulties. Citizens are therefore urged not to wait until the last day and to register immediately.
