Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Release Date, Episode Schedule, and Where to Watch the Culling Games Arc

08 January, 2026 15:13

The popular Japanese manga series Jujutsu Kaisen, written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, is officially returning with its highly anticipated third season. First serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from March 2018 to September 2024, the story follows high school student “Yuji Itadori” as he becomes part of a secret society of Jujutsu Sorcerers to defeat the powerful curse “Ryomen Sakuna.” Following its anime debut in September 2020, the franchise has become one of the most successful modern anime series worldwide.

Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen premieres globally on January 8, 2026, marking the beginning of the brutal and high-stakes “Cunning Games” saga. Adapted once again by studio MAPPA, the new season launches the final chapter of Akutami’s story, making it a landmark moment for longtime fans.

The season opens with a one-hour special episode that picks up directly after the Shibuya Incident. The series will be available for global simulcast on Crunchyroll. In the United States, the premiere airs at 9 a.m. PT and 12 p.m. ET. Viewers in the UK and Europe (CET) can watch at 6 p.m., while Indian audiences can stream the episode at 10:30 p.m. Japan will receive the broadcast on January 9, 2026, at 2 a.m., with Australia following at 4 a.m.

Although MAPPA has not officially confirmed the total episode count, industry expectations suggest Season 3 will span two cours with approximately 24 to 26 episodes. The opening episodes are expected to adapt “Itadori’s” Extermination and Perfect Preparation arcs, with Episode 6 transitioning fully into the deadly Culling Game storyline. The “Part 1” subtitle confirms a multi-part structure.

Season 3 will follow a weekly release schedule, beginning with a double-episode premiere on January 8, 2026. New episodes will air every Thursday, with Part 1 concluding in late March 2026.

Fans are especially excited as the core creative team from Season 2 has returned. Shota Goshozono reprises his role as director, while Hiroshi Seko handles series composition, ensuring continuity as the anime enters its concluding phase.
