PSL 2026; Who is Fawad Sarwar? All Details about Hyderabad Team Owner

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Thursday welcomed its seventh franchise after US-based FKS Group won the team at an auction held in Islamabad.

The management rights for the new team were secured for Rs 175 crore (approximately $6.25 million). The franchise will be named Hyderabad and is owned by FKS Group, led by its president, Fawad Sarwar.

Speaking after the successful bid, Fawad Sarwar said the team would proudly carry the name of Hyderabad, his hometown. He added that the full name of the franchise would be announced later.

Sarwar was born and raised in Hyderabad, where he completed his early education before pursuing higher studies at international institutions. Although he now lives in the United States, he said his emotional connection with Hyderabad remains strong.

“I always wanted Hyderabad to have representation in the PSL,” Sarwar said, adding that owning a PSL team to carry the city’s name had been a long-standing dream.

Sarwar is a well-known businessman with interests across multiple sectors. He is the founder and owner of Kingsmen Sports and Enterprises and also owns the Chicago Kingsmen cricket team in the US. A cricket enthusiast, he has actively promoted the sport through his business and investments.

His main venture is the FKS Group, where he serves as president. The group includes FKS Aviation, ProCare Health, and Kingsmen Enterprise, and Sarwar also leads investment firms such as Gilded Investments, Sand2Glass Investments, and Minus2Degrees.

With the acquisition of the PSL’s seventh team, Sarwar has entered Pakistan’s premier cricket league as a franchise owner, calling it a personal milestone and a tribute to his hometown of Hyderabad.
