Heavy Rain & Snowfall Forecast with Strong Winds and Thunder

The Meteorological Department has forecasted “more rain and snowfall along with strong winds and thunder” in several parts of the country.

According to the department, snow is expected in Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Galyat, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Poonch, and Haveli. Islamabad is likely to experience rain accompanied by strong winds and thunder, while cities including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, and Sialkot are also expected to see rainfall.

Gujranwala and Narowal may witness rain with thunderstorms at some locations. Additionally, rain is forecasted for Abbottabad, Shangla, Astor, Hunza, Skardu, and Murree. Authorities have warned that road closures and slippery conditions could disrupt traffic flow, and there is a risk of landslides in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Most districts in Balochistan are expected to remain cold, while the majority of Sindh will experience cold and dry weather. The ongoing rainfall in various parts of the country, coupled with snowfall in Murree, has intensified the cold in twin cities.
