The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert for several parts of Sindh and warned of very high temperatures in the coming days.

According to the weather department, most areas of Sindh are likely to face hot to very hot and dry weather. Central and upper districts may remain under heatwave conditions until May 3.

The districts expected to be most affected include Jamshoro, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Kashmore, Ghotki, Sanghar, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, Jacobabad, Larkana and Sukkur.

Officials said daytime temperatures in these areas may stay 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above normal.

People, especially children, women, and the elderly, have been advised to stay safe, drink more water, and avoid direct sunlight during peak afternoon hours.

Farmers have also been advised to plan wheat harvesting carefully and protect livestock from the heat.

In Karachi, hot and dry weather is expected over the next few days. Temperatures may cross 38°C on Friday and Saturday and could reach around 39°C on Sunday.

However, sea breezes are expected to continue in Karachi, and no heatwave conditions are likely in the city during this period.
