UAE Work Visa Costs & Processing Period: How to Obtain it in September 2025

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) permits companies and employers to recruit individuals from abroad, including Pakistani citizens, for various employment opportunities. To do so, employers must obtain an employer-sponsored Employment Visa for the foreign workers after meeting all official requirements.

This type of visa acts as both a residency permit and work authorization and is issued under the sponsorship of the employer.

Steps to Obtain a UAE Work Visa

1. Job Agreement
   The process begins when a foreign national signs an employment contract with a UAE-based employer.
2. Work Permit Application
   The employer then applies for a work permit through the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE).
3. Travel to UAE
   Once the permit is approved, the foreign employee is allowed to enter the UAE.
4. Medical Fitness Test
   Upon arrival, the employee must undergo a medical examination to obtain a medical fitness certificate.
5. Biometric Data Submission
   The individual submits biometric data required for the Emirates ID.
6. Visa Sticker
   A visa sticker is then placed on the employee’s passport.

Validity of UAE Work Visa

• Mainland Visa: Valid for 2 years
• Free Zone Visa: Valid for up to 3 years

Work visas can be renewed with mutual agreement between the employer and employee.
