Iran Says US and Israel Are Main Cause of Regional Insecurity at Moscow Security Forum
Iran’s Vice Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Bagheri-Kani, stated that the United States and Israel are the primary reasons behind insecurity and instability in West Asia. He made these remarks during a meeting with Gabriel Luchinger, head of the International Security Division at Switzerland’s Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, on the sidelines of the 14th International Meeting of High Representatives Responsible for Security Issues in Moscow.
Bagheri-Kani emphasized that the aggressive actions of the US and Israel have created ongoing tensions in the region and said both countries would have no place in the future regional order.
During the meeting, Swiss official Gabriel Luchinger expressed condolences over the reported assassination of former Iranian security official Ali Larijani in an Israeli airstrike on March 17. He also stated that Switzerland is ready to cooperate with Iran on resolving regional and global challenges.
The two officials exchanged views on recent regional and international developments, including the consequences of what Iran described as a US-Israeli war against the Islamic Republic.
Earlier in Moscow, Bagheri-Kani also met Iraqi National Security Adviser Qasim al-Araji to discuss security-related matters.
The Iranian official arrived in Moscow to participate in the international security conference taking place from May 26 to May 29. The forum focuses on strengthening cooperation between countries and promoting dialogue on global security challenges through meetings, conferences, and bilateral discussions.
