Iran Warns US: Armed Forces Will Leave No Attack Unanswered After Hormozgan Strikes

10 June, 2026 07:42

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has issued a stark warning to the United States following its latest military strikes on Iranian territory, cautioning that the attacks “will not go unanswered.”

In an early Wednesday post on X, Araghchi stated that despite battlefield setbacks, Washington had “opted to test our determination,” stressing that Iran’s armed forces “will leave no attack or threat unanswered.” He further warned US forces to “Leave our region if you want to be safe,” adding that “the history of the Persian Gulf has many chapters on dire fates of intruding outsiders.”

The Islamic Republic’s state broadcaster reported that US projectiles struck several locations in Hormozgan Province, identifying Qeshm Island and the Jask and Sirik Counties as targets. Prior to the strikes, US Central Command announced via social media that it had launched operations against Iran in response to the crash of a US Army Apache helicopter off the coast of Oman.

US President Donald Trump had acknowledged the incident a day earlier, confirming a New York Times report and declaring that the United States “must” respond, alleging that Iran had downed the aircraft. Iranian officials and military representatives firmly denied involvement, reaffirming that any act of aggression would trigger a decisive reprisal.

Even before the American strikes, Araghchi had cautioned that Iranian armed forces remain on “constant alert for any violation of Iran’s airspace, land or waters,” and that foreign forces near Iranian territory are at perpetual risk. He reiterated that the most effective way to reduce risk is for foreign militaries to withdraw from a region that will “never be hospitable to a hostile presence.”
