Kate Medical Records Breach: Healthcare Worker Tried to Sell Sensitive Data
Princess Kate’s alleged medical record theft during her cancer treatment has been confirmed in an official statement following reports.
In 2024, Princess Catherine, who courageously shared her cancer diagnosis, underwent a major obstruction weeks after a severe case linking the security of her medical records. She endured abdominal surgery at The London Clinic and remained there for 13 days during her recovery.
Officials threw a criminal investigation into the matter, and at least one hospital staff member was reportedly terminated for endeavoring to access and misuse the Princess’s medical records.
The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) confirmed on Wednesday, following a two-year probe, that “deliberate misuse of highly sensitive personal information” had taken place along with an attempt to profit from it, labeling it a serious breach of trust.
The ICO further stated that, no wider organisational failings were identified that met the threshold for regulatory action.
After taking a break from royal duties while undergoing treatment, Princess Kate later announced she was in remission earlier in January 2025. Following her recovery, she resumed to public life and concede out her first unaccompanied abroad official visit.
