Iran Warns Neighbours Against Allowing Territory to Be Used for Future Attacks

05 October, 2026 10:26

Iran has warned neighbouring and regional countries that its response would be different if their territory or military facilities were used for future attacks by the United States or Israel.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei made the remarks during a press conference in Tehran, urging regional countries to reconsider their policies, particularly those that allowed their facilities to be used during the recent conflict.

Baghaei said that if the United States and Israel launched another attack against Iran and the territory of a regional country was used for that purpose, Tehran would respond differently.

He said Iran considers its relations with neighbouring countries important but would not accept the use of their territory to facilitate military action against Iran.

The Iranian spokesperson also called on regional governments to prevent their territory and military facilities from being used by parties involved in military operations against Iran.

Baghaei said Tehran had communicated its concerns to neighbouring countries in recent weeks.

The warning comes amid continued tensions between Iran and the United States, with Tehran maintaining that any new US military action would face a stronger response.

Reuters reported that Iranian officials have also considered expanding the scope of a possible response beyond US military facilities to countries that support or facilitate US military operations.

At the same time, diplomatic contacts between Iran and the United States are continuing. Tehran has put forward conditions concerning the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and other issues, while significant differences remain between the two sides.
