Yemen Foreign Minister Seeks International Support for Military Action Against Houthi Militia

Yemeni Foreign Minister Afrah Al-Zouba has called for international support for military action against the Houthi militia, saying the Yemeni people have the right to restore state authority and security.
Al-Zouba said the government’s military efforts were aimed at restoring national sovereignty and strengthening the authority of state institutions across Yemen.
She said bringing weapons under state control was also a key objective and urged the international community to support the Yemeni people and legitimate state institutions.
The foreign minister said opportunities for de-escalation and a peaceful settlement had been exhausted, while accusing the Houthi militia of seeking to impose its will through force.
She added that the consequences of the Houthi militia’s activities had extended beyond Yemen’s borders and were creating wider regional security concerns.
Al-Zouba called for international measures to prevent the continued flow of weapons and financing to the Houthi militia, while reiterating support for restoring state control and security across Yemen.
