Russian Drone Strikes Target Energy Infrastructure Across Ukraine

Russian forces have launched a new wave of strikes targeting energy facilities in several Ukrainian regions, including Kyiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, and parts of the Donetsk region, according to Russia’s Defense Ministry. The ministry said on Sunday that its unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) units employed Gerbera drones to carry out the attacks on infrastructure allegedly used to support Ukrainian military operations.

In a statement cited by Russian media, the Defense Ministry said the strikes hit key energy sites in the targeted regions and released footage purportedly showing the operations. The attacks form part of a broader escalation in hostilities between Russian and Ukrainian forces, with energy infrastructure continuing to be a major focus of military activity on both sides.

Recent weeks have seen repeated strikes on power and energy facilities, resulting in disruptions to electricity and other essential services. Russia and Ukraine have repeatedly accused each other of deliberately targeting critical infrastructure, while the continued attacks have raised concerns over their impact on civilians and the stability of public services in affected areas.
