IRGC Claims Fuel and Ammunition Depots at Jordan Air Base Set Ablaze

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) said it has targeted fuel depots and ammunition storage facilities at Jordan’s Prince Hassan Air Base in what it described as a retaliatory operation against US military infrastructure in the region.

In a statement issued on Monday, the IRGC said its Aerospace Force carried out missile and drone strikes on key targets at the air base, causing fires at fuel storage and ammunition facilities.

The IRGC said the operation was a direct response to recent US attacks on Iranian coastal bases and telecommunications infrastructure.

According to the statement, the strikes were carried out with ballistic missiles and drones. Iran also claimed that its forces targeted a Patriot air defense system, an ammunition depot, and a radar site in Kuwait, as well as communications and radar facilities in Bahrain.

The IRGC warned that any further US military action would be met with stronger retaliation.

“The retaliatory operations of the warriors are ongoing,” the statement said.

The IRGC also claimed that satellite images showed damage at Prince Hassan Air Base following the strikes.

In its statement, the IRGC said its Navy had stopped two ships that it claimed were moving illegally in the Strait of Hormuz before the latest escalation.

The statement also included the message, “And fight them until there is no more fitnah (persecution) and religion is wholly for Allah.”

It added that Iran had set fire to missile depots and fuel tanks at Prince Hassan Air Base during what it called the first phase of its response to recent US actions.

“If you support Allah, He will support you and make your feet firm,” the statement concluded.
