Trump Announces Gaza Disarmament Agreement as Hamas Signals Acceptance

Donald Trump announced that the Board of Peace has reached an agreement for the “complete disarmament” of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza. According to Trump, the deal follows months of negotiations and forms part of the second phase of a US-brokered ceasefire initiative aimed at ending the conflict in the Palestinian territory.

A senior official from Hamas told the BBC that the group has agreed to the Board of Peace’s disarmament plan and that an official statement confirming the decision would be issued soon.

The Board of Peace said the agreement concludes months of “intensive, good faith negotiations” and that attention is now shifting to implementation. According to the framework, the second phase of the ceasefire includes the disarmament of Hamas, the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza, and the reconstruction of the territory.
