US Airstrike on Iran’s Larak Island Destroys 2 Rocket Launchers
US forces have claimed to have targeted two rocket launchers of the Revolutionary Guards on Iran’s Lark Island, the first known US airstrike in Iran in weeks.
According to a spokesman for the US Central Command, the Revolutionary Guards were preparing to launch rockets to deliver naval mines into the Strait of Hormuz when the US forces took action.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards claimed that several people were killed and injured in the attack and threatened the US with retaliation and punishment.
According to the Iranian news agency Tasnim, the attack was carried out by drones, in which two people were killed and two were injured.
Near Iran’s major port of Bandar Abbas, Larak Island lies in the Strait of Hormuz a vital gateway for international shipping and global oil supplies.
US President Donald Trump claimed last week that all naval mines laid by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz have been destroyed or removed, while Iran has described this claim as mere propaganda.
