UK Protest Exposes Concerns Over BJP and RSS Ideology

Protests against the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) took place in the United Kingdom during the visit of its chief, Mohan Bhagwat, with demonstrators raising concerns about the rights of minorities in India.

According to Indian publication Maktub Media, social activists staged a strong protest against Bhagwat’s controversial visit to London and called for the protection of minority rights in India.

The Independent reported that protesters gathered near Parliament during the RSS chief’s UK visit. According to Scroll.in, demonstrators outside Parliament rejected the RSS’s Hindu nationalist ideology and criticized the British government for remaining silent on the organization’s views.

The protesters also called for the 2002 Gujarat violence to not be forgotten and urged people to stand united against fascism, according to Scroll.in.

Earlier, a US commission had also called for restrictions on the RSS chief’s entry into the United States and the cancellation of his visa.

Canadian parliamentarians have also expressed concerns about the presence of Hindutva groups in Canada, describing it as a possible cause of social unrest.

The protests in the UK have once again brought international attention to concerns surrounding the RSS and its ideology.
