US Attack on Iran Feared Within 24 Hours as Tehran Rejects Alleged Washington Offer
Tensions between the United States and Iran have increased after US President Donald Trump suggested that Washington may target Iran’s underground nuclear-related site known as Pickaxe Mountain.
Iranian journalist Morteza Gharqhi has claimed that the United States asked Tehran not to retaliate if Washington attacked the site. According to the journalist, Iran rejected the alleged request. However, the claim has not been independently verified, and neither the US nor Iranian government has officially confirmed it.
Gharqhi also warned that Trump’s recent statements could signal possible military action within the next 24 hours. He claimed that Iran’s armed forces were fully prepared to defend the country, but no official announcement has confirmed that an attack is imminent.
According to Reuters, Trump said in an interview with Newsmax that the United States might have to target Pickaxe Mountain to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. He said the site was buried beneath a mountain and could be targeted if necessary.
Trump also said he did not intend to use nuclear weapons against Iran and ruled out sending US ground troops into the country.
The possibility of using powerful conventional weapons against Iran’s underground facilities has also been discussed. However, Trump did not confirm that he had authorised the use of the GBU-43/B, commonly known as the “Mother of All Bombs.”
There has been no official confirmation of a planned attack or a specific timeline. The claim that the United States has decided to strike Iran within the next 24 hours remains unverified.
Any new military action against Iran could further increase tensions across the Middle East and affect regional security, global energy markets and shipping routes, including the Strait of Hormuz.
For now, Trump’s remarks have raised concerns about a possible escalation, but the timing of any potential attack remains unclear.
