In this regard, Chief Administrator of Sindh Auqaf Department confirmed that the shrine will reopen for general visitors under strict implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Sindh government had to close the shrine on March 24, 2020 under preventive measures to stop the spread of deadly coronavirus.

Due to that, provincial government also cancelled the annual urs of Muslim saint in Sehwan Sharif on April 12.

Earlier, Punjab government had decided to reopen shrines.

As per their decision, shrines of Muslim saints reopened across Punjab to facilitate devotees.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar had said, while talking to provincial ministers Muhammad Basharat Raja, Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed and Malik Muhammad Anwar.

He said the world has changed due to coronavirus and people need to change their lifestyle in accordance with the new changes.

He said that shrines have been reopened across the province to facilitate devotees.

Buzdar said that devotees should maintain social distancing while visiting shrines.

On the other hand, COVID-19 guidelines following remained unsatisfactory during Eid holidays

Concerned officials updated National Command and Operation Centre that the COVID-19 cases may increase because people’s following of guidelines and standard operating procedures remain unsatisfactory.

The meeting noted that the following of standard operating procedures SOPs and guidelines regarding COVID-19 remained very scarce during Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
