14 committees to report on matters regarding NAP revival within a month.

Interior Minister Ijaz Shah called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad on Wednesday.

He presented him the performance report of the ministry from August 2018 to April 2020.

The Minister apprised the PM of revival of national action plan (NAP) by National Internal Security during the period.

In this regard, he said fourteen high-level committees were formed.

These committees will submit their recommendations about different affairs within a month.

He informed the PM of introducing electronic visa for one hundred and seventy-five countries as per the vision of the Prime Minister to promote investment and tourism in the country.

The minister apprised PM Khan of the comprehensive policy framed to eradicate terrorism from the country, particularly for checking financial resources.

A high level steering committee formulated a comprehensive policy and detailed strategy.

Interior ministry is implementing that policy to eliminate the menace of smuggling.

A total of seventy anti-encroachment operations held in Islamabad to retrieve 15,000 kanals of land worth 100 billion rupees from the land mafia.

The minister said that NADRA is providing every possible assistance to other government departments for national interest.

These include documentation of the economy, expansion in tax base and tax collection affairs.

Besides, NADRA is also assisting in the Naya Pakistan Housing programme.
