FM tells HC Turner Pakistan desire expanded trade partnership with United Kingdom (UK).

British High Commissioner Dr Christian Turner called on Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Islamabad on Tuesday.

While talking to him, he expressed Pakistan’s desire to further promote trade partnership with the UK.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan and Britain enjoy deep and longstanding bilateral relations.

Alluding to the Indian atrocities in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Foreign Minister urged the international community to play its role for the resolution of Kashmir dispute as per the UN Security Council resolutions.

The British High Commissioner commended Pakistan’s conciliatory efforts for peace in Afghanistan. He was also appreciative of Pakistan’s strategy against Covid-19.

The two sides also held discussion for promotion of cooperation in the areas of climate change, education and tourism.

Meanwhile, British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Dr. Christian Turner also met Prime Minister’s Adviser on Accountability and Interior Shahzad Akbar in Islamabad.

During the meeting, they agreed to closely work together for timely implementation of an extradition treaty and readmission agreement.

They also discussed Extradition Treaty and Readmission Agreement between the two countries in detail and both agreed to increase cooperation in order to finalize these agreements.
