Mother of Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif passes away in London, according to PMLN official.

Ms Shamim Akhtar, 90, was residing with her son Nawaz Sharif at the Avenfield apartments since February this year.

Deputy Secretary General PMLN Attaullah Tarar shared the news of her death today.

In a twitter message, he said Api Jee passed away Innah Lillah wa Inna Ilayh Rajay-oon.

Mother of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and former Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif – Begum Shamim Akhtar passed away in London.

Although Tarar’s tweet had not included cause of death, people know late Begum Akhtar was not feeling well for the past some time.

The news of demise of Begum Shamim Akhtar came amid Pakistan Democratic Movement – PDM’s rally in Peshawar.

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif arrived at the venue after attending a luncheon along with other PDM leaders at the Bilour House.

Maryam and other PDM parties leaders are spearheading a campaign against the government.

However, news reached Peshawar where Mian Iftikhar of ANP interrupted the address of Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to let Maryam Nawaz share the sad news with the people.

Maryam said she was not in a position to address the rally.

Moreover, she asked people to pray for her grandmother and his father.

Later, participants of the PDM’s power show offered prayers for the departed soul.
