Pakistan Central Cotton Committee revival discussed during a high level meeting.

Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Syed Fakhar Imam presided over the meeting in Islamabad today.

The meeting also discussed ways and means to enhance cotton production in the country.

Besides, they discussed the revival of Pakistan Central Cotton Committee.

Meanwhile, Syed Fakhar Imam spoke on the occasion.

He underlined cotton as an important crop.

Furthermore, he cited cotton based production of 7 percent of the edible oil in Pakistan.

During the meeting, the participants called the use of biotechnology and genetic engineering necessary using international support.

Moreover, they further emphasized that the revival of cotton cannot be done without research.
