Six players including Babar Azam delay return to Pakistan
Following a shocking group stage exit in the T20 World Cup, six players including captain Babar Azam have delayed their return to Pakistan.
The team is set arrive in Pakistan on 19 June via Dubai, however, Babar Azam, Mohammad Amir, Imad Wasim, Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, and Azam Khan won’t be returning home.
They will be spending their holidays in London before coming back to the home land.
During their time in London, they will spend time with family and friends, and some are considering playing in leagues in the UK.
Meanwhile, head coach Gary Kirsten and assistant coach Azhar Mahmood will head to their homes. The Pakistan cricket team currently does not have any immediate engagements, so the coaching staff, with PCB’s permission, is going back to their respective countries.
It is worth mentioning here that Pakistan defeated Ireland by three wickets in their final match of the ongoing T20 World Cup.
They won’t be returning to action until August, where Pakistan is set to host a two-match Test series against Bangladesh in August.
Following that, the England Test team is scheduled to tour Pakistan in October.
