WhatsApp set to launch security checkup feature for future update

19 July, 2024 15:13

WhatsApp is introducing another exciting feature, which will be rolled out as part of a future update of the app.

WABetaInfo reported that Meta’s famous instant messaging app is putting together a new feature that will permit users to quickly review their security settings. It will also help users protect their accounts by adding additional layers of security.

The security checkup screen suggests features, including the ability to set up a passkey and will enable users to log into WhatsApp with biometric data or a screen lock.

Whatsapp users can also add an email to their account that will facilitate account recovery when they are unable to receive verification code via SMS.

Furthermore, the security checkup recommends enabling two-step verification that provides an additional layer of security through a personal six-digit code.

The new feature also consolidates all key security options in one place that makes it more likely for users to engage with and configure these settings.

It simplifies the process of managing security preferences and ensure that the users can easily navigate and understand the different options available to protect their accounts.

The new security checkup feature is under development and will be available in a future update.
