As if all agreed Justice Mansoor Ali Shah won’t be next CJ, JI chief takes jibe in X post
Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that after the constitutional amendments, the Chief Justice will not be appointed on the basis of seniority.
Taking to X, formerly known as twitter, Hafiz Naeem said that it seems that everyone has agreed that Justice Mansoor Ali Shah is not going to be the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
He quoted Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as saying that the PPP and Maulana Fazlur Rehman has 100 per cent agreement on the proposed constitutional amendment. Barrister Gohar claimed to have consensus with the JUI-F chief, while Rana Sanaullah said that Maulana is agreed to the government’s draft, the JI chief said.
“All are agreed on that the next Chief Justice will not be Justice Mansoor Ali Shah,” Haifz Naeem further wrote on his social media post.
He added that the appointment of the next chief justice would not made on seniority. The government will have control over the judciary, the JI chief said.
