Gary Kirsten resigns as Pakistan white-ball coach

Gary Kirsten has resigned as the head coach of Pakistan white-ball team, ESPNCricinfo reported Monday.

The former South African batter was appointed for the role back in April this year on a two-year contract.

He barely lasted six months in the role.

Red-ball team head coach Jason Gillespie or Chief selector Aaqib Javed is favourite to success Kirsten for the upcoming Australia and Zimbabwe tours.

The conflict with PCB emerged after Gary Kirsten wanted to include the individuals of his own choice in the categories of the central contracts and support staff.

Moreover, he had refused to stay in Pakistan, as per agreement with the board.

According to the agreement, The South African was also asked to join the team in Pakistan one week before every series or tour slated to happen.

Despite, the contract, he reportedly refused to stay in Pakistan during the Champions One-Day Cup and apart from that as well.
