OpenAI rolls out $200 ChatGPT subscription for researchers

OpenAI has introduced a version of its popular chatbot ChatGPT available for $200 per month.
The new version of chatbot ChatGPT may be used in engineering fields and for research. The AI company intends to expand industry applications for its technology.
The new version called ChatGPT Pro, is in addition to OpenAI’s existing subscriptions of ChatGPT Plus, Team and Enterprise. The latest version underscores the company’s ambitions to enhance commercialize its technology that had kicked off the AI boom.
The new version ChatGPT Pro will allow access to the most advanced OpenAI tools, which include unlimited access to its new reasoning model o1, GPT-4o, o1 mini and advanced voice.
The company said that the subscription also includes o1 pro mode, a version that uses additional computing power to solve more complex queries.
OpenAI further said the o1 pro mode performs is better in working on machine learning benchmarks across science, maths and coding compared with the o1 and o1-preview versions.
