ICC approves hybrid model for CT 2025; Pakistan won’t travel to India in 2026

ICC releases new promo of Pakistan team
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has sanctioned a hybrid hosting model for the 2025 Champions Trophy, following an agreement between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Under the new arrangement, Pakistan will host 10 of the tournament’s matches, while India’s league-stage fixtures, including the highly anticipated India-Pakistan match, will be held in Dubai.
The semifinal and final of the tournament will also take place in Dubai. If India is eliminated before the final, the remaining matches will be moved to Lahore and Rawalpindi in Pakistan.
Additionally, the PCB and BCCI have come to an understanding regarding the 2026 T20 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
Pakistan will not travel to India for their scheduled league match against India; instead, the match will be relocated to Colombo.
In exchange, the PCB will not receive financial compensation but will gain the right to host an ICC Women’s tournament after 2027.
The arrangement has been positively received by the ICC, PCB, and BCCI, ensuring a smooth and collaborative approach to the planning of these major international events.
