Five die as boat carrying migrants including Pakistanis sinks off Greek island

At least five dead and many missing after a migrant boat sinks off Greek coast.

According to the foreign news agency, a migrant boat sank near the southern Greek island. The Greek Coast Guard said that five people died in the accident, 40 people are missing and 39 have been rescued.

Media reports said  most of the Pakistanis were in the boat, adding rescue activities are ongoing to search for the missing passengers of the boat.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has expressed regret over the deaths of Pakistanis who went to Europe illegally.

Naqvi ordered an investigation and formed a committee under the chairmanship of the Additional Interior Secretary, which will investigate the incident and submit a report to the Interior Minister within 5 days.

The minister said that human trafficking is a crime and added the FIA should take nationwide action against the human trafficking mafia.
