Over 250 Pakistanis deported from seven countries arrive in Karachi

UAE group shows interest to run Karachi, Lahore airports: report
Around 258 Pakistanis have ben deported from seven countries that include Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and China in the last 24 hours.
Fourteen of the deportees had Pakistani passports, while 244 were expelled on emergency travel documents.
232 people were deported from Saudi Arabia. Of them, seven were beggars. They were repatriated via various flights. Two persons were held performing Hajj without permits and sent back after they had completed their sentences.
Four Pakistanis had overstayed their Umrah visas, 27 were working without sponsorship (kafeel) in the kingdom, 16 stayed beyond the validity of their visas, 112 were deported due to complaints from their sponsors, and 63 faced other charges.
On the other hand, the UAE had deported 21. Of them, four were involved in drug trafficking. One individual each was expelled from Qatar, China, Indonesia, Nigeria and Cyprus.
16 of the individuals deported from the UAE and Nigeria were listed on the FIA’s immigration stop list but were released after interrogation.
The immigration sources noted that the trend of deportations has been increasing significantly.
In the past 24 hours, the Federal Investigation Agency’s Immigration Cell also offloaded 35 passengers at the Karachi airport.
